Of all the 20,000 people – and one frog – who attended King Charles‘s Coronation Concert, few rivalled the enjoyment of eight-year-old Princess Charlotte.
Featuring a star-studded lineup including Take That, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry, the young princess and her elder brother stole the show with their dancing from the front row of the Royal Box.
Held outside Windsor Castle on May 7, 2023, 10,000 lucky members of the public got their hands on free tickets to the two-hour concert, which was viewed by more than 10million people at home.
But for a young princess who was definitely up past her bedtime, royal protocol was likely the last thing on her mind.
As the most senior members of the Royal Family, the newly-crowned King and Queen were the last to take their seats in the royal box.
The couple were seated in the middle of the front row of the box – meaning they had to walk past the Prince and Princess of Wales and their two eldest children, Prince George, who was nine at the time, and Princess Charlotte, eight.
As her grandfather passed her, Princess Charlotte did her best curtsy as a mark of respect for the new King.
In doing so, Charlotte was accidentally turned away from Camilla as she passed – meaning she was too late to curtsy for the Queen.
